Sermon for Sunday, October 11, 2009
“Be Generous”
At Oasis, we boldly teach the importance of Biblical giving. That giving is necessary for the building of Gods kingdom and for personal joy in our own lives. Here, we are encouraged to be obedient managers of the money that God has placed in our hands. “Give and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full-pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back” (Luke 6:38).

This week we continue our series on the 6 Core values of Oasis. This week’s core value is “Be Generous”. In the world we live in we are taught to look out for ourselves, but God commands us to give to our church, and to give to others. When we give for God’s name to be advanced, he will bless our gift (and us) more than you could ever imagine. Ask God to give you a generous heart this week as you interact with others. Come ready to give of not only your finances and time this Sunday, but come ready to give your all as we worship the King of Kings. I look forward to worshiping with you Sunday.
